Way Over Yonder is the famed Newport Folk Festival’s West Coast younger cousin. Way Over Yonder features full length sets by a carefully selected group of artists that are all part of the extended Newport Folk family. Loosely categorized as ‘folk music’ or having ‘folk’ roots, these musicians are carrying on in the great American singer-songwriter tradition.
The Wild Reeds are a quintet from Los Angeles, made up of three front women, and two gents on drums and bass. Their harmony-driven indie folk has a sound of its own, but has been compared to Fleet Foxes, Jenny Lewis, and classics such as Fleetwood Mac. Their live performances will transport you to somewhere timeless, all the while painting a picture of the perils of this generation. The Wild Reeds just released their formal debut album, Blind and Brave, on August 9th and it has received unanimous rave reviews.
Make sure to catch them on September 26th at Way Over Yonder, and please let us know if we can get you set up with an interview, or a download of Blind and Brave for review.
