NYC based rockers The US Americans have released their new project, Greatest Hits, that delivers an aggressive, face melting, hard rockin’ wall of sound that is an all out force of sensory stimulating, fist raising, adrenaline pumping, punk-infused rock and roll.
From the moment we click play on the opening track Playtime, we are treated to a cohesive 12-track record which packs punch after hard punch of top shelf musicianship, ever engaging arrangements and a production quality which ensures you are going to hear each instrument and all the sonic nuances clearly and with impact.
The band knows how to seamlessly blend other sonic elements into their punk focus. Track 4, Innocent Fools, shows off the band’s funkier side with soaring electric guitar and a contagious rhythm which triggers nostalgia for great sounds of decades past thanks to some Woodstock-era aesthetics including psych-rock feedback manipulation, ’60s, ’70s-esque guitar solos and a sound that is much larger than the small group of guys generating it.
Consistently, for 12 tracks, The US Americans deliver sonic greatness that cannot be ignored; especially for fans of energetic, motivating rock and roll.
I can’t choose a favorite song. Each one has it’s unique flair which puts on display the bands’ masterful song-craftmanship across an eclectic palette of rock colors.
Greatest Hits is best enjoyed in it’s entirety. With that said, Playtime, Innocent Fools, Fade Out, or Lazy Suzy are a few selections that would go well in rock, hard rock, psych rock or punk rock playlists.
Greatest Hits is available on Soundcloud or you can get physical copies from the band’s website.
