Tommi Waring – Faultline
Born in Hollywood, Florida in 1995, Tommi Waring comes from musical roots stemming back to his great-grandfather, Fred Waring. With music in his genes, Waring naturally picked up a guitar and started songwriting at a very early age and is now refining his musical talents at Boston’s Berklee College of Music.
Waring is an ambitious artist and embraces the pressures of living up to the expectations of becoming the singer, songwriter and musician he was born to be. He recalls playing his first live set at Art Basel in 2013 and how it was like a “taste into the future” of how his musical career could be.
Waring explains,
“As some people say, ‘music is life and life is music.’ Well I think in my own music, I’d love to be able to play the same impact as someone else did for me. There are other artists that I’ll listen to their albums, and those albums bring me back to that time period. I’d love to be able to do that for someone else down the road and tell a story. What else are you doing in life if you’re not sharing your art and you’re not telling a story of what you’ve done in life?”
With his soft, soulful voice and sweet, acoustic sound, Waring does tell stories through his music and lyrics. His debut album Amore, coming out in July 2016, is like musical literature that chronicles the relationship of two people in love. With each song narrating a different chapter in the depth of their relationship, Amore weaves a wonderful tapestry of textures and colors running the gamut of genres from ballads to rock to country.
