On the road for the last several years performing over 400 shows all over North America, Kingston, Ontario based rockers The Wilderness are, in my humble opinion, on a trajectory to become one of the next biggest bands you haven’t heard yet.
Their new single Fall (Despite What You Do) is an emotionally powerful, rock single that contains all the proper elements to blast off into the mainstream as a rock radio, chart topping hit. I rarely make commentary such as this about indie music, however, The Wilderness are undeniably larger than life; with their sound, their work ethic, and everything in between.
A 6-piece consisting of lead singer Jonas Lewis-Anthony, keyboardist and percussionist Liam Neale, saxophonist Nicholas Lennox, lead guitarist Sacha Lansky, drummer Henry Lawrence, and bassist Karl Tombak, members of The Wilderness come from an eclectic blend of musical and cultural influences. Coming from all over the planet, The Wilderness finds its roots originating in the United Kingdom, Switzerland, the United States, and Canada.
As soon you as click play on Fall (Despite What You Do), your sensory system will be overwhelmed with an attention grabbing, highly infectious, emotionally potent, larger than life energy that will lead you to sharing this band with friends, adding them to your playlist, and checking their tour dates to see if they are coming to a location near you.
About the new single, Jonas (lead singer) says,
Certain things happen in life that spiral completely out of control and we often find ourselves powerless to the situation. Sometimes the only thing you can do is ride the wave of whatever happens and accept that sometimes, despite what you do, you’re going to fight a few battles that you will eventually lose.”
With plenty of new music on the way, listeners and fans have no need to worry about waiting too long for more tunes from The Wilderness.
