After the release of The Loft Club’s debut EP ‘Heart’s Desire‘ late last year, which we reviewed, it was only a matter of time before the British rockers made a return to the music scene, and what a return it is!
They have released an amazing new single, the slow-burning, string-augmented “Flicker” in what can only really be described as a power ballad.
“Flicker” is an eclectic and romantic offering, that immediately lifts your spirits. It’s jam packed with catchy melodies and toe tapping beat patterns. There’s also a pleasant surprise in the form of a guest appearance from Dallas native Folk singer Lisa Loeb. Best known for her smash ’90s hit “Stay (I Missed You)”, Lisa sounds angelic and right at home with The Loft Club’s marksman vocalist Daniel Schamroth, who weaver together in a charming fashion.
The Loft Club’s debut EP last year and their new single “Flicker” are released courtesy of Lightyear Entertainment, and distributed by Caroline Distribution. Lightyear’s website lists an impressive roster, with music/DVD releases from Damian Marley, Mountain, and Eurythmics.
When you download the single, you get 2 versions of “Flicker” for the price of 1. Which makes the download even more worthy. The 1st track is more up-beat, flamboyant and features Lisa Loeb, and the 2nd track is a more stripped back version that’s slower and more easy listening.
Who are The Loft Club? They are the next new Rock band emerging from the UK, with members Daniel Schamroth, Jamie Whyte, Kieran Chalmers, Amy O’Loughlin and Dan Wright.
