Melbourne, Australia’s Pop-Rock Electro outfit, The Hiding, have plans to rock into the American music scene.
Anthony Salce, Ryan Di Cecco, Adrian Perri and Joe Torre formed out of a previous band that saw the need for a change in direction. They released an EP in 2012 that was produced by Jack Maroudas (The Living End) and mixed by Mark Needham (The Killers). Two singles from this EP began receiving spins from college radio across the US and Canada, while back home, another single was being used on the Australian TV show The Block (seen by 1 million+ viewers).
The Hiding sounds like a combination of influences, but if you can grasp your head around a fusion of the Beatles and Coldplay, coated with an outer layer of U2 and topped off with some spice from The Fray and The Killers….you would get a taste of what The Hiding have to offer.
Their lyrics tell stories, their music paints pictures, but the bottom line is that this music creates a mood. The instrumentation takes you places and sets the proper landscape for each song as you journey forth. Make sure to listen to ‘Lantern Lights‘ and ‘Hopeless Heart‘ below.
The Hiding will be performing at the 2012 CMJ Festival Showcase in New York. If you are in the area, go show your support.
