Growing up in a less than satisfactory Ukranian household led Alex Poe to a life in Los Angeles where he indulged himself in the electronic music scene.
As The Hate Club (THC), Alex embraces the DIY ethic. Every step of creation and production is handled solely by Alex. He released his debut EP (Space Born) in 2017 which became a cult classic among the electronic scenes in NYC and LA.
His mission with the music? I’ll let Alex explain,
The Hate Club is a place for outcasts to call home, for people to punch in the face the messed up world we live in.”
I love it!
Combining his love for electronic music with a punk rock attitude, THC delivers music with a distinct style and easily identifiable aesthetic; I mean that in all the best ways.
As I listen through Unplugged, my ears are treated to a sonic wall of engaging, acoustic-driven songs that feature Alex’s powerfully emotive, charismatic vocal delivery which sucks you in and keeps your senses engaged. The musicianship is top notch and the quality of production throughout the entire project sounds way above and beyond your average DIY project.
The fact I have listened through this five song EP multiple times on repeat should speak for itself.
