Some time ago in a land not far from here at Saint Joseph’s College a trio known as Fourtitude came together to express their creativity through well crafted but far from cookie cutter pop-rock songs.
A mutual love of alternative 90s rock and professional wrestling fueled the band’s chemistry which resulted in a short-lived project. After many lineup changes and endless nights infecting Saint Joseph’s campus with their alt-grunge-punk frequencies, Fourtitude disbanded.
Years later, Ryan and David decided it was time to create something new…an album based on their experiences coming of age in Rensselaer, Indiana. After recruiting another college friend, Michael Garrity, to play bass and write bios – the rest is now history.
Folk Legend is a story loosely based on the life and times of Mike Thurston, Fourtitude’s original drummer. A tale about growing up, attending college, discovering yourself, and moving on.
Like a great novel, Folk Legend captures a few moments in space and time and delivers them raw and uncut. This story takes you directly to those moments at Saint Joseph’s when a group of young men were on a journey of growth, maturation, discovery, and moving on after the smoke clears.
I suddenly feel like I am back at MTSU discovering myself and pushing my limits. Folk Legend is a journey through human growth in the form of 90s-alt-rock sonic goodness.
Fourtitude is now in Chicago further developing their sound as an indie rock trio.
