With music appearing on multiple compilations, tribute albums, major TV networks and even documentaries as well as growing into a staple of the Philly indie rock scene, Stellarscope deliver dark, moving music that somehow manages to maintain a level of wide appeal.
Their music makes me think of Deftones. That is the prominent comparison that keeps coming to mind.
Standing In The Shadow Of Your Ghost is an ambient, haunting but somehow comforting and soul soothing collection of ten well crafted and well executed tracks.
Falling digs deep into your senses with it’s organic but grooving rhythms, soul penetrating melodies and a fully immersive wall of sound which will carry you to another place if you allow it.
Only Strangers Now immediately grabs you with a danceable, pop-esque rhythm quickly followed by dirty guitars rockin’ an awesome riff. The song is driven by it’s rhythms, great sounding and hard groovin’ bass and plenty of energy to make you start jumping around the room no matter how tired you might be.
All For You makes it rain emotion provoking melody, a sweet sweet snare, a bass line that drives and some mind melting, soul poking solo guitar work that will have you hitting rewind for a repeat listen.
The entire album from beginning to end flows like a piece of classical music through the lense of post punk, pop appealing, ambient alternative rock.
I seriously haven’t enjoyed music of this style this much since I first discovered Deftones as a teenager. Deftones is my wife’s favorite band next to Earth Wind & Fire so I will be sharing this with her.
My 9 year old daughter just came running into the room yelling over these Yahamas pumped to 12…
This is gooooood music!! Who makes it?!”
Enough said.
Stellarscope create highly emotive music that is guaranteed to stand the test of time.
