Sasha Papernik is what happens when the Russian opera meets the genres of folk and swing at a Broadway musical.
With an enchanting voice, an engaging wall of sounds, themes of love, loss, and solitude, and influences from her Russian-American heritage; Sasha is blasting through the music cosmos with something that will catch the star gazing eyes of many around the planet very soon.
Her new album Victory is a melting pot of experienced musicianship from the genres of country, swing, and classical.
Ms. Papernik’s operatic voice is mature way beyond the years equivalent to her age. Her presence and soulful delivery gently lay you down to sleep with stories and intricate lullabies that could calm the angriest baby in the nursery.
“My favorite artists take from real life and, through their imagination, rearrange things we see everyday into something extraordinary,” says songwriter and classical pianist Sasha Papernik.
A first generation American, Sasha was influenced by the classical and opera collections of her Russian parents.
She began her journey on piano at age 4 which turned into a degree in classical piano performance from the prestigious Manhattan School of Music.
“It was the first time that I was surrounded by musicians working and playing in all sorts of genres… Songwriting combined my passion for writing poetry, composing, performing, playing piano, and singing,” she enthuses.
With the release of Victory, Sasha has released something new, homegrown, and extraordinary into the music atmosphere.
