With songs featured internationally in ad campaigns for Chanel, Dell, Kida, ABC’s Revenge, E.L.F. Cosmetics and TV shows such as The Good Wife, Cable Girls and Grandfathered; it is safe to say Sarah Sharp knows how to write a damn great song that captures the attention of more than just your average listener.
A multiple Austin Music Award winning songwriter and jazz singer (Best Female Vocalist, Best Producer, Best Songwriter, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Band of the Year and Best Jazz Band…impressed yet?) as well as former member of the Jitterbug Vipers (who we have featured before) and a feature on NPR’s Song Travels where Michael Feinstein suggested Sharp’s original songs were “destined to become standards”, Sarah Sharp is somewhat of a song crafting mastermind.
Her latest EP, Wake, features six tracks of smooth, laid back, coolness-inducing Viper Jazz frequencies that engage and hold your attention from the moment you click play until the last song fades; leaving you wanting more. Each song is a gem waiting to be uncovered and dusted off, one listen at a time, until the truly inspiring beauty of Sarah’s creativity becomes clear.
I love the phrase and the vibes of Viper Jazz and have been a fan of Sarah since I first had the pleasure of interviewing her some time ago.
