Switzerland based indie rocker Samuel Christen started down his musical journey around the tender age of eight. Fast forward to present day and I would like to present you with Samuel’s intriguing, psychedelic-esque, alt-rockin’ album, Disappeared To Be Myself.
In true DIY fashion, Samuel wrote and produced this album entirely by himself and he did a great job! From the opening notes of Disappeared to the final song No Answer, Samuel takes us on a sonic journey of refreshing sounds with hints of classic-era psychedelic rock which throw tribute to influences such as The Doors, Pink Floyd and even the more modern vibes of Radiohead. What an interesting but excellent mix of styles!
I have been thoroughly enjoying the entire album without yet being able to choose a favorite song. Samuel’s many years of practicing and making music are on full display for the entire duration of Disappeared To Be Myself.
The bridge and breakdown that starts around 4:35 of track 2 (Can’t Even Say My Name) is just one of many moments throughout the 9 tracks where I found myself reaching for my air guitar in order to jam along.
Fans of psychedelic-infused alternative rock are going to enjoy this record as much I do.
