Saints Patience is an exciting new band from London with great melodies and tight grooves that form the foundation of their classic rock set up. Drawing from a rich palette of influences, they have crafted their own sonic identity using guitars, bass, drums and soulful vocals.
In this interview spotlight, we chat with the band about influences, their newest project, the digital music age and more.
Full Q&A along with links and a streams below.
Where are you from and what style of music do you create? (In your own words, not necessarily in marketing terms or by popular genre classifications.)
We are a London-based Rock and Soul band. We like bands from Otis Redding and Queen to Soundgarden so fusing all of that together gives us a fresh take when we’re writing.
What led you down this path of music and what motivates you to stay the course?
Embracing the different types of music we listen to and want to hear keeps us on our toes and give us energy. We are always striving to write our next favourite song!
How is your new release different than previous ones? Did you set out to accomplish anything specific?
Taste of You (single) is more dance focused than Break of Dawn (single). The album (Weather The Storm) is a mix of rock, dance and soul with tight and driving instruments keeping the power running throughout.
Do you face any challenges as an indie musician in a digital age? On the flip side, how has technology helped you (if it has)?
Staying on top of social media is tricky, we want to be writing and performing not sitting on the computer. Technology has meant we can record everything in our own space and time. It’s a challenge but it means keeping out of expensive studios whilst we try stuff out.
