Robert Nix‘s newest and 5th independently written and produced album Once In A Blue Moon is not for the faint of heart.
Nix’s music is heavy…not in an emotional sense but in an intellectual one. If you appreciate nuance, intricacy, and out-of-the-box musicianship, then I highly recommend Once In A Blue Moon.
Robert is dedicated to creating his own brand of songwriter and he has definitely succeeded. I haven’t heard anything quite like this in…well, EVER!
If I dug deep enough I might find a few prog-rock records that might compare or possibly something from the underrated sub-genre of math rock… but as far as I’m concerned Robert Nix is in his own lane.

Imagine Syd Barrett fronting The Talking Heads… this probably doesn’t help you predict Robert’s sound but you get an idea of how original and psychedelic Once In A Blue Moon might be.
