Australian singer/songwriter Robbie Maroon has delivered Dream Factory, Volume 2 which is the follow-up to his 2017 debut, Dream Factory, Volume 1.
The music bug grabbed Robbie and his passion during his teenage years after attending a Prince concert. It was that event which sparked the fire inside this budding creative. He immediately began performing, honing his craft and now composes, writes, arranges and produces all the music on his own.
Electric guitars that pump out soaring leads, accentuation and nuance layered on by synths, potent bass grooves locked in with rockin’ rhythms and Robbie’s intimate, emotive vocals combine into 12 tracks of smooth listening which provide a thoroughly enjoyable, somewhat relaxing and soul soothing tapestry of frequencies.
Whether pretending to play along with the piano in Complicated, tapping your feet to the upbeat acoustic jam My Angel, bouncing to the funky, synth-infused, 80s esque vibes of The Final Call, dancing along to the upbeat grooves of Get Up, Stand Up, or riding out the album with a slower ballad like Stepping Stone, Dream Factory Volume 2 packs a sonic punch that will be warmly welcomed by fans of pop appealing, jazz lounge leaning, funk-infused rock which delivers a healthy dose of nostalgia and familiarity for music popular during the 80s.
In addition to the songs mentioned in the above paragraph, Possessed and Sorry are also tracks worthy of your attention.
