Singer/songwriter Rob Ashley has one of the most appropriate titles for a first solo album I have yet to see… Premiere. Farewell.
Taking into consideration his history and how the songs on the album came together, that album title finds even more profundity.
After nearly 30 years in the New England music scene working on various projects, Rob Ashley was consistently setting aside song ideas, concepts, melodies and recordings. He eventually found the time to come back to those unpolished gems and began the creative process of recording and producing each song for an eventual release.
Ranging in sounds, energy and vibes from solo acoustic to stripped-down duo to all out rock band, Premiere. Farewell. shows listeners how versatile Rob and his creativity truly can be.
Summoning nostalgia for groups such as The Replacements or Uncle Tupelo, Rob delivers something distinctly familiar yet very refreshing and brand new. Singer/songwriters Keller Glass and Daphne Martin contributed their talents to the project as it was recorded at Dirt Floor Studios.
Touching, poking and pulling us through the spectrum of emotions, Rob Ashley‘s music is organic, honest, intimate and engaging. According to the 40+ stations supporting Rob’s record across North America, I’m not the only who thinks so.
