With $20 in his pocket, Rian Mac left Ireland for the US with the beginnings of the perfect story line on a quest for the “American Dream”. Along with that $20, Rian also had a guitar. He began busking on the streets of San Francisco. Eventually he crossed paths with Victor Campos. They became a powerful songwriting team.
While in Oakland, there was a chance meeting between Rian and Grammy nominated producer James Gardiner. Rian began writing and producing music with Gardiner (aka The Godfather). Those songs saw placements by VH1.
For the latest release, I’m The One, Rian joined forces with Gardiner and Campos for an indie pop-rock jam that reflects on those initial difficult times when Rian first landed on the shores of the Bay Area with just a guitar a single piece of legal tender.
With a powerful, passionate vocal performance, I’m The One delivers an intensifying electro-pop sonic foundation that provides a sense of tension and release as the track seamlessly transitions from one section to the next.
Violins meet with crisp drums and a bass groove that drive the verses into synth-infused, more intense choruses before circling back to the memorable violin riff. When the breakdown hits around the 2:25 mark, we realize that these talented creatives have a knack for smooth transitions, nuanced sonic textures and masterful song crafting.
