Classic rock lead guitars, progressive rock synthesizers and infectious pop infused melodies collide for a cosmic sonic experience appropriately delivered by the digitized, virtual-centric collaboration of West Coast based guitarist/bassist Morgan Shinstine and East Coast based drummer/vocalist Matt Tyson; the duo tag teams keys and synths.
The members of Relative Rabbit have never met in person. A few albums in their discography shows they’ve been collaborating virtually for years…ahead of the curve it’s safe to say.
Curious for the Curious, the latest and third album, takes us on an energetic ride through space and time as we explore themes concerning the good and bad of virtual reality and our current status in the internet age of personal engagement and interaction; not to mention the complexities that quarantines, unwelcome solitude and cancelled holidays spent lonely have added to the social skills of our youth.
As drab as that sounds, I promise you this album is full of energy, love and bright lights.
The epic impressiveness of classic rock musicianship collides with the rocket fuel of progressive rock synthesizer runs for a 14 track album guaranteed to lift you to the heights of A Super Nova Dream where we start questioning what happens When Reality Is Gone while waiting for The New Messiah who will suddenly appear and say, “Let Me Entertain You“.
Between You and Me with my Stone Cold Face Yearning, I’ll consider looking Behind the Code to seek a Divergence as I Tell A Lie and reply back,”You’re My Religion Now!” as I contemplate Driving Nails into my spaceship…because I’d rather keep riding this wave instead of nailing them into my coffin. 😉
If I lost you in the last two paragraphs, this is an excellent time to click play and start jamming Curious for the Curious. I can guarantee it rocks. I can guarantee the musicianship is top notch. The vocals are wicked, in all the best Rock N Roll ways of course. I can guarantee this is some of the coolest classic-prog rock I’ve jammed in a while. Possibly all of 2022 (so far at least).
This new album from Relative Rabbit has so much to offer. You’re missing out if you don’t check it out.
