“Animals in Denial” is an alternative music project spearheaded by the multi-talented Christian Imes. His musical journey, which began with the gift of his first guitar at the age of 14, has been marked by unwavering dedication and a relentless pursuit of his passions.
As a self-taught guitarist, Christian has transitioned from playing in local bands to establishing his own music and brand. What sets Christian apart is his ability to adapt and expand his skill set. Over the years, he has taught himself to program synthesizers, play the drums, and master the bass guitar. He is constantly pushing the boundaries of his capabilities.
“Animals in Denial” transcends melodies, and is an embodiment of the artist’s soul. In his personal studio, Christian Imes is a one man show, responsible for every aspect of his music creation. While he handles the majority of the production process himself, he occasionally receives production assistance from his wife Jeanine.
In 2016, Christian made a significant mark in the music scene by releasing over a dozen singles and four full length albums on all major music streaming services. This output demonstrates his commitment to creating and sharing his unique brand of alternative music with the world.
“The lyrical inspiration behind this song, started as a battle cry to the industrial scene morphed into a rallying call to the disaffected. So even though the song is positive and meant to uplift, it has a sharpness to it that is probably as close as I get to being sarcastic. So, it’s a sarcastically positive rally call. I like it.”
Now available on all streaming platforms, this is the third single from the “Crash Course Volumes,” a part of the upcoming “Blue Light Special” installment scheduled for a November launch. What makes this release truly fascinating is its origin as a raw demo track, which has undergone a remarkable metamorphosis thanks to a blend of studio upgrades and AI tools.
It carries a pointed, almost ironically positive message that invites listeners to seek their own wellspring of inspiration, to unite around something authentic. Lyrics like “Can you help me touch belief, can you help me see it, can you help me reach it” challenge the notion that life is merely a battle against negativity. The song serves as an encouragement to awaken and uplift one another, fostering the belief that even in a world of despair there is hope.
