Chords of Truth‘s new acoustic EP, Reflections of Reality, is full of substance and depth.
Chords of Truth is a solo acoustic project by Folk Singer-Songwriter Jason Garriotte. Mixing sounds from the classics such as Bob Dylan and Cat Stevens with the more modern Andrew Bird and Iron & Wine, Chords of Truth has a classic vibe that stays relevant to the current times.
Chords of Truth aims to accomplish two things: 1) open your mind to a different view of the world and 2) help you enjoy the ride while doing it. “The framework for these songs was born out of over 10 years of playing his unique cover versions of classic songs,” states his website.
This collection of tracks is very genuine. Each one takes your imagination on a journey through reflection and growth. For instance, the song When I Was Wasted points out the following:
Now don’t get me wrong as I sing you this song
I love a buzz all day long
But I stay controlled as I let myself go
Even as I get wasted
Rolling with new plans, avoiding one night stands
Keeping myself safe and away from gangland
It’s about choices
Everyone loves a buzz, but moderation and maintaining control seem to be important aspects of the process most people pay no attention. There are gems like this throughout Jason’s lyrics.
You can find lyrics to each of these 7 tracks on his website. They are well worth the read.
