West Virginia native, Orlando resident singer/songwriter Randal Branham began playing piano at age six and copyrighted his first songs by the time he was seventeen. The story goes that Randal was so passionate about piano his father eventually padlocked it in an attempt to get Randal to take schoolwork and athletics more seriously. However, being the true musician he is, Randal defeated the padlock and was not deterred by his father’s attempt to slow down his progress and explorations in music.
That passion and dedication has led Branham to winning several awards such as: Billboard’s best song contest for his song Kid, Honorable Mention for Wonderful and the International Song Writers’ award for Fly Away. He performs annually at the Winter Garden Festival and semi-annually at the Florida Music Festival. You can also find Randal performing at Disney Springs and various venues all over the Florida.
During the annual Orlando Pride Parade in 2017, Randal performed with backup dancers on a float that passed by massive crowds (50,000+) lining the streets. He is also known for his anthem Man To Man which was co-created alongside Karen Brandon after the tragedy at Pulse in Orlando.
Walking a fine line between pop rock and adult contemporary, Simple appeals to more mature listeners just as much as it appeals to the younger demographics. Uplifting, well-thought-out, passionate music is what I can guarantee from Randal Branham. His music emanates a maturity missing from mainstream pop but an aesthetic that allows his music to easily fit into any playlist promoting pop, pop rock or any of its variations.
Simple will not be available until September but you can listen to Touching Down on YouTube.
