Typically in art and music, when we are presented with a soulful, inspirational focus on the brighter side of life; that manifestation of emotions comes from a dark and painful source.
Award winning singer/songwriter Rahn Anthoni is no exception. However, unlike the average creator, Anthoni does much more than create motivating, mood lifting songs.
Music makes me feel free from all my problems that I have each day,” Anthoni says, and he is glad to pass the feeling along to fans. “It gives me a getaway and expresses love to all my listeners – including myself.”
Hailing from a small town in Florida, now residing in Atlanta, Rahn started off singing back-up for “The Song Bird Of The South” Dottie Peoples which eventually led to him signing with Tate Music Group. Anthoni’s first single, Hold On, was an inspirational song encouraging listeners to hold tight and embrace life.
Rahn’s career continued progressing as he found himself hosting Starpower on the BET Network. He has also appeared in Thina Film’s Good Deed but, taking that TV experience even further, Rahn created his own show (The Rahn Anthnoi Show) that garnered 1,000,000+ views on Eotm TV. As part of Eotm Media Group, Anthoni had the honor of covering The Oscar’s Red Carpet in 2015. Present day, he serves as CEO of WMQGRadio.com The Source, the number #1 internet radio station giving back to the Old Skool music.
This is the part of the story where the dramatic twist occurs. That moment when things are going so good….the least expected, tragic thing happens. That thing that makes or breaks you. Fortunately for our lead character, Rahn, this tragic moment is what sparked and fuels his continued evolution as an artist and a human being.
Losing his special needs son, Aaron Hatcher, to abuse… Rahn Anthoni has become a strong advocate and activist supporting special needs children. Every year The Aaron Hatcher Awards are given out in honor of his late son. Anthoni also started the Special Needs Rock Awards and They Can’t Talk But We Can (a non-profit organization advocating for children living with disabilities).
If you’ve been reading my writing for any length of time, you know how much I appreciate music that is fueled by more than just a desire to “be cool” or “be famous”. My focus is on music with a story, music with soul, music with purpose. Rahn Anthoni‘s songs embrace all these things.
His newest single (and music video), Highway, is an uplifting, inspiring and smooth sounding track that is equal parts Classic Country and Old School Soul. Two things which I really dig but do not see blended together very often. You’ll be vibing and singing along as soon as you click play.
