Rachel James is an Independent Nashville artist sharing her unique flavor of music with the world. She was raised singing Southern Gospel at a very early age, and knew early on that it was her call in life.
She set aside pursuit of a musical career when she got married and started a family. As her two children started school, she took her dreams back off the shelf. Over the next few years, she began polishing her sound and songwriting skills with well known producers Vic and Toni Clay and Steve Allen. She recorded a mini disc and took it on a tour of Country & Christian festivals & crusades around her home state of Tennessee.
It was after this tour that she came across what would become her first single, ‘Get Down’, written by a 17 yr old Canadian named Jill Quist. She fell in love with the song and released it as a single, then quickly followed it with a high quality music video directed by Gospel great Johnny Minick.
Rachael is currently working on a full length album that she hopes to have released in the next year. If the new record is as good as the single promises, it is sure to be a hit on all the independent Christian charts. This young lady has a voice that would be suited to all styles of music, but she obviously excels at the Nashville sound. We look forward to hearing more from Rachael, soon!
