Portland, Maine’ s experimental-electro-trip-hoppin singer/producer powerhouse duo Port of Est. have released an intense, cinematic and vividly painted soundscape on their newest project Onyx Moon.
Onyx Moon is an experimental electro-pop soundtrack to that space in between subconscious thought and active creation. Those moments in time when inspiration hits, whether or not you’re ready.
Forming in 2013, Port of Est. includes producer Todd Kitchens and vocalist Hannah Tarkinson who combine elements of pop, rock, folk, electro, drum & bass and shoegaze to create an aurally stimulating voyage through a finely woven tapestry of frequencies.
It took us about a year to figure out how to work together in a way that respected each other’s tastes,” explains Kitchens, “and most importantly respected the music and where it wanted to go.”
We want people to feel like they stumbled upon a sonic landscape that is both subtle and blindingly intense,” the duo explains.
Port of Est. have succeeded in creating something subtle but quite intense. This creative duo are paving a lane all their own.
