I’ve spent the day catching up my inbox and man is it full! It’s been a month of moving and construction, so I haven’t had time to write. I have, however had time to add some new favorite tunes to my playlists! Patrick James Clark sent me “I’m Gonna Find Her,” from “Letters to Beatrice” and I love it!
I’m talking with Aaron Young from Hangout Records about it in a hangout, right now. He digs the Amos Lee, Ray LaMontagne thing that Patrick has going on and agrees with me that this tune conveys a sense of longing in a special way.
From the outset, Patrick painted a picture that started us both on a journey around the world while we felt the comfort of the sounds of home. The steel guitar took me from Nashville to Bakersfield and back and that classic Strat sound is a sweet compliment the mix, but this one really does come down to the song itself.
This one, my friends is one of those tunes that could have been pounded out on an out of tune piano or busted acoustic for some A&R guy in a back alley and turned into an overnight hit back in that golden day we all long for!
