Pale Blue Dot’s new album, Anatomy, is nothing short of a extremely enjoyable listening experience. I really mean that.
Balancing an invigorating line between pop and alternative rock, Pale Blue Dot features the songwriting of Charlottesville, Virginia native Tony LaRocco at its core. Building upon that foundation, Anatomy also features the talents and undeniable chemistry of Peter Balogh on guitar, Will Reed Thomas on guitar, Drew Pompano and Darby Wootten on drums, as well as Johnny Stubblefield who also provides drums and percussion. The album also received contributions from guest keyboardist Butch Taylor, guitarist Sam Wilson and John D’Earth.
This team of savvy, passionate and very thoughtful musicians have crafted an upbeat, uptempo, pop rockin’ wall of sound that is full of energy, memorable guitar riffs, infectious hooks and enough appeal to deserve a top spot on alternative and pop rock radio playlists. Think Foo Fighters attitude, Coldplay pop appeal and Pearl Jam intensity thrown into a slow-cooker and left to marinate. A very delicious spread of sounds is the result.
Anatomy is an album you definitely want in your collection. It’s also an album you can put on anytime you need a mood booster or some potent jams to lift your spirit. Each song stands on its own as a radio ready single but combine into a cohesive album featuring masterful song crafting and the highest quality musicianship.
Anatomy was recorded at Monkeyclaus Studios (forged from sustainable materials) in the Blue Ridge Mountains with local producer Dave Stipe. The band has also been in Nashville recording at Blackbird Studios as well as Bias Studios in Washington, D.C.
