West Virginia based one man band Noise Ratio has delivered a very distinct and mature alternative rock/indie pop album on his latest release Songs On Fire.
Noise Ratio is the moniker of creative mind Jeff Valput who handles all composition, performing and singing. Best described as adult alternative rock (for lack of a better term), Songs On Fire is an album which is sonically distinct, unafraid to push boundaries and a record that more mature, articulate music listeners can appreciate.
Without formal training, Jeff is self taught and has been composing instrumentals mostly as a hobby. After seeing his songs chart on (the now extinct) mp3.com as well as being featured as background music for various projects and airplay on radio, Noise Ratio began working on the new release, Songs On Fire.
The single Freed Love is an excellent introduction to the fresh and unmatched sounds that emanate from Noise Ratio creations. The video is below or on YouTube.
The animation and visuals in the video are just as distinct and fresh as the sounds. Elizabeth Barry produced the visual treatment.
Trial and Error is another jam that puts the uniqueness of this music on full display. Check out the video below or on YouTube.
Songs On Fire garnered quite a bit of praise during pre-release exposure and has now been unleashed onto the the world to attract listeners who enjoy their music with quite a bit more depth than what you find on more “mainstream” channels.
This music is interesting, it’s incomparable, it’s well thought out and it’s perfect for the above average music fan.
