Love gritty blues guitar? Love acoustic driven rock? Love it when the artist isn’t afraid to blend genres? Neither do I which is why Noah James Hittner‘s new album, Willing, is one of my favorites of 2019.
In the sake of transparency, I’m good friends with Noah. But it wasn’t always like that. I first connected with this talented songwriter, author and entrepreneur like I connect with a lot of artists and bands.
I wrote an article about his music.
Only, after that, Noah and I continued communicating. He has appeared on network television and radio for his work. He pours a lot of his time, love and energy into the independent music community through his venture The Ark of Music, LLC. And he performs and releases original music in addition to all of that.
Willing is Noah’s latest contribution to the collective consciousness. Founded in the traditions of working man, blue collar, gritty blues rock, Hittner defies any and all genre boundaries by infusing electronic, Hip Hop, and all styles of rock into his singer/songwriter aesthetic. Through the use of a looper and effects, this one-man-band manages to produce the sound of a fuller ensemble. You can find him touring in Wisconsin and the Midwest.
Throughout the album, listeners will feel Noah’s passionate energy emanating from the speakers and tugging on their emotions. One of my favorite aspects of this new album is the high quality of production. Compared to Noah’s previous releases, I can really hear and sense the improvement and evolution of Noah as a recording artist.
Willing just sounds great! It is packed with really strong songs. The soaring lead guitars you hear throughout the album’s songs are the icing on the cake…for me. Something about that gritty, electrifying blues guitar gets me every time!
Favorite songs? The Trickster, Porch Step, Tribe, Madison.
