Farah makes her musical debut with the release of her Neoteric EP. A voyage through experimental R&B and alternative Hip Hop, Farah has arrived with a unique sound that stays true to the essence of the R&B grooves we grew up with throughout the 90s.
Not a stranger to the spotlight, Farah Washington began performing at a very young age. By age 6 she was singing. By middle school, she was competing in talent competitions. Despite her lack of title belts, she forged on far from discouraged by the losses.
In high school she joined the dance team, further built her confidence, and began shaping her sound in the studio. By 2008-09, she was on Myspace building a following by releasing mini-projects. When she hired a professional photographer to handle her press kit and media photos, he suggested she become a model.
“I got into modeling by accident,” says Farah. “I was working with a photographer to take some professional pictures for my music and he suggested that I get into modeling. So at the age of 18, I did, and it’s my primary job right now.”
Released in October, the Neoteric EP is an album Farah holds close to heart. It’s a musical journey through the story of her first love; every lyric written from deep within.
If you like Aaliyah, Sade, Kid Cudi or Jhene Aiko, you will dig this EP. It is soulful. It is sultry. It is down-tempo and it’s perfect for vibing out when you need to wind down.
