Natalise + the Sunset Run have released a powerful, touching, tear-jerking, gratitude-inducing single titled The Lucky Ones.
Although you would never know this song was about cancer victims, Natalise found herself with a heavy heart after two people very close to her were hit with Stage 1 and Stage 2 cancers.
When I wrote the “The Lucky Ones,” it was after a few key events occurred. I was going through a sort of deep introspection and sadness for a period of time after having watched two loved ones around me get diagnosed with stage 1 and 2 forms of cancer. They were both very young, beautiful, and talented. It was a shock to the system and really one of those times you ask, “Why them? Why do bad things happen to good people?”
Furthermore, after her own personal health scare, Natalise found herself in a deeper state of introspection and reflection.
Once she received the call to create a song for a movie about a couple where the female lead was dying and wanted to say goodbye, everything was in place for her to begin penning the beautiful, calming and comforting The Lucky Ones.
Natalise has a very impressive portfolio with her music having landed on networks like MTV, VH1, Oxygen, and The WB/CW. She has also performed at venues like the Warriors’ Stadium (The Arena at Oakland), Viper Room, House of Blues, and colleges across the country.
The Lucky Ones is the first single off her album Glimpses of the Sun.
