Detroit native alt-pop singer/songwriter Natalie Lucassian has arrived with smooth, enchanting sounds on her single Restless. Her EP, 12:26, is now available!
Described as “Amy Winehouse reincarnated as Adele’s indie rock little sister”, Natalie delivers a hauntingly hypnotic performance backed by a sonic foundation that is equal parts alternative, indie rock and vintage pop. Soothing the senses with her soulful delivery, Natalie is able to grab and hold listeners’ attention with a level of intimacy and honesty that is natural, organic and raw.
I can’t argue with the above description. As someone who appreciates both Adele and Amy Winehouse’s music, I have to say that this phrase is pretty spot-on. Natalie doesn’t sound like either artist but her style definitely summons a certain familiarity that reminds us of these strong, independent, creative women.
Considering the growing list of radio stations supporting 12:26, Natalie’s seemingly effortless ability to grab our ears is a testament to the appeal her darker, grittier pop sound is having on those who are fortunate enough to find this rising artist.
