Azerbaijan based composer Nandan Gautam has delivered his latest album The King of the Sea.
The King of the Sea features a hypnotic, enchanting blend of elements ranging from pop, rock, lounge, world and electronic music with hints of jazz and also splattered with moments of urban-stylized drum rhythms (which took me by surprise the moment the deep bass hits and crisp triplet hi-hats kicked into gear)
Having an interesting relationship with music over the years, Nandan explains:
It was like a failed relationship that wasn’t working out, but you felt like you had to have it.”
Twenty years and a spiritual awakening later, Nandan found his way back to the music.
With his passion for jazz-pop and a refreshed, illuminated mental state, Gautam has created ambient, ethereal soundscapes featuring rich melodies, vivid imagery, hypnotic rhythms and entrancing instrumentation that eases the mind, body and soul into a relaxed state where worries can be shed and carried away by the soothing frequencies found within this potent work of art.
The King of the Sea is an album you can put on, turn up, sit back and just allow yourself to lose yourself.
