Catchy riffs, uplifting rhythms, sweet guitar tones and a foundation of jazzy, funky soul come together on Moses Guest’s single Light for an enjoyable and quite memorable listening experience.
Moses Guest, originally based in Colorado, has been a band for 25+ years. With extensive touring of the Rocky Mountain region, the band now calls Houston, Texas home.
Light, their newest album, was released on August 4th. Having shared stages with names like Moe., Steve Miller Band, JGB, Willie Nelson, Los Lobos, Leftover Salmon, String Cheese Incident, Robert Bradley’s Blackwater Surprise, Jayhawks, Lisa Loeb, Colonel Bruce Hampton & the Fiji Mariners over the last few years it’s safe to say Moses Guest isn’t slowing down anytime soon.
The title track, Light, is quite the tasty jam and received a healthy dose of creative feedback from frontman Graham Guest’s 9 year old daughter who suggested which parts should stay and which parts should go.
Light is about that feeling of excitement that overwhelms us when someone or something new grabs our attention. After time passes we begin thinking that thing or person really isn’t that cool until that moment when you’ve thought about it too much and you realize you’re not really sure how cool that thing or person actually is.
Light (the album) marks Moses Guest’s 20th anniversary as a band and is their first release since 2007 when they released Best Laid Plans.
