Mick McMains might have been flying under your radar for quite some time but trust me when I say this seasoned musician has been making sonic waves for many years. If you’re already a fan of McMains, then I have great news! His new album, American Soul, is now available!
A descendant of the legendary clan the Hatfields (specifically Devil Anse Hatfield), singer/songwriter McMains‘ single Don’t Say Good Night Tonight reached #1 and acquired the most downloads on the Airplay Express Top 40 chart.
During his career, McMains toured Europe with The Generators bassist, he spent two years as vocalist for Earl Slick’s band, two additional years as guitarist for Englishman John Wick’s The Records, and also worked with the art-music ensemble DJ Monkey as co-producer. His song, I Walk Alone, can be heard in the film The Switch featuring Jennifer Aniston and Jason Bateman; his song Sexy Sexy can be heard in the film Hard Breakers.
Delivering impactful songs founded in a potent blend of roots rock consisting of elements from Folk, Americana, Country Rock and Bluegrass, McMains crafts songs with an impressive pop appeal.
Featuring rich melodies, soulful vocals, pristine production and masterful musicianship, American Soul is a roots rockin’ powerhouse of an album that can be listened to repeatedly without getting old. Packed with plenty of musical nuance, you will discover something new with each listen.
If you prefer to stream your music, you’re only going to find an abridged version of the album. However, if you head over to McMains’ website and grab a CD, you will be treated with all thirteen songs included on the full length release.
