Nashville’s Maxwell James has delivered a refreshing, uplifting blend of bluesy, folk-rockin’ Americana sounds on his latest self-titled project.
Embracing the spirit of Nashville, this EP was recorded at Farmland Studios which is a house that has been converted into a recording studio. Musicians who contributed to this project include: Jason Cheek on vocals and guitar, Chris Croce on bass, David Dorn on B3 organ and Wurlitzer electric piano, Scott Murray on electric lap steel and, of course, Maxwell James handling vocals and guitar.
The result is a collection of five well crafted songs with a healthy, potent dosage of pop appeal. Despite each song’s roots rockin’ leanings, every track exhibits a high level of top-notch production and radio-readiness. No matter which of the 5 songs you choose as a favorite, each of them have the ability to stand on their own as individual singles but manage to merge into a cohesive record that can be enjoyed repeatedly.
This is a well crafted album displaying a distinctly Nashville sound.
