Switzerland based conceptual artist, writer, vocalist and turntablist Marty McKay creates music from a wide array of genres.
After making a name for himself as a turntablist, he began diving deeper into music. By 2004 he found himself touring Europe and California alongsideVanilla Ice.
Shortly after that, he began developing his own unique sound. In 2014, Marty released Sin’s Disciple, a modern day analysis of the seven deadly sins.
McKay is back with a pop-infused, alternative rock record documenting his experiences living in New York City. Aptly, the album is titled New York City Dreams.
Quite the departure from his original rap style, New York City Dreams is packed full of 9 well crafted songs; each sounding like a single deserving of radio airplay. McKay’s ability to pack so much pop appeal into his alt-rockin’ universe ranges in influences from U2 to Coldplay to Incubus or even 3 Doors Down.
Marty writes and produces great songs, no matter the genre.
New York City Dreams is a great record and you can get your copy on iTunes.
The lead single, Empire Town, is streaming on Soundcloud.
