We recently had the opportunity to speak with Mark Taylor about his new album No Closer To Home. Be sure you visit that interview.
If you have been reading my reviews for any length of time, you have heard me say this before…
I love the blues.
Spending the past week or so vibing out to Taylor’s acoustic blues rock contribution to the music community has found a deeper enjoyment for No Closer To Home each time I listen.
This album was a long time in the making. The typical story of delays, setbacks, scheduling, and everything else that goes into making a great album fueled the fire that got Mark to this point.
Long time member of Tumbling Dice, Taylor decided to also perform as a solo act in 2009 to expand his base for creativity. His passion for writing and playing music shines through on each track.
The guitar tones are lovely. Mark’s acoustic rhythms fill your soul as his smooth but somehow gritty voice walks us through a journey of love, loss, and self evaluation.
In a world of 99 cent singles, Mark has shown us that someone out there still knows how to craft a great album.
Now would be a great time to go grab your copy of the album.
I’m going to be chilling over here with Mark as “the whiskey keeps me warm”.
