From the moment you click play on Luke Spehar’s new album, The Pilgrim, you will be carried away by an enchanting wall of folk/bluegrass/Americana sounds guaranteed to lift your spirits, nurture your soul, and provide an infectious, melody-rich, very pleasing listening experience.
Raised in Minnesota, Luke ventured down the songwriter’s path at the age of 16. He was responsible for composing all the music on debut album titled Be Still. He accomplished this before he even graduated high school. During his college years, he penned two more albums: No Other Way and All Is Gift.
After college, he continued recording and began performing around the States as well as outside its borders. After touring with the well known artist Ben Harper, Spehar’s third album (All Is Gift) found itself receiving production by Harper. Now in Minnesota with his wife and two children, Spehar successfully executed a crowd funding campaign which helped him prepare the new album for release.
The Pilgrim is packed with seven finely crafted, pristinely produced, soul-infused songs which deliver a cohesive and undeniably charming listening experience from beginning to end.
This is seriously one of the finest sounding, most enchanting, acoustic-driven folk albums I have listened to in 2018. No joke.
