Veteran musician and recording artist Mike Hill has announced his latest rock/pop album and documentary, Love & War.
Bringing together Grade AAA class musicians from his network of peers, Mike has managed to unite 31 talented souls which created the end product; now on iTunes and Spotify.
All my musician friends said I should make an album – and I said bass players don’t usually make albums. Not even I would want to listen to one of those!” said Mike Hill.
Mike continues, “But then I thought of that Herbie Hancock album and the Santana album that featured Rob Thomas, and I thought why not?”
After raising $40,000 through a Kickstarter campaign in January 2015, Mike ventured forth through the creative processes that arrived at this might Rock/Pop masterpiece… Love & War.
My dream was to create a Rock/Pop album that highlights the incredible pool of world class singers, musicians and songwriters that I’ve met while working in and around LA,” says Mike. “I wanted to put them all together on one unified project and the cast of 31 people on this record has such an amazing and special chemistry and I wanted to fuse that with all my influences that range from 30 Seconds To Mars to Sia and Ellie Goulding and combine it into one great record.”
And a great record indeed. I haven’t heard this polished of a rock album with such powerful pop appeal in a really long time. You can’t bring together 31 of the most talented musicians in the LA music scene and not expect anything less than epic.
Love & War will lift you up, get your blood flowing, and have you rocking your heart out before the end of the first song.
Love & War is streaming on iTunes and Spotify.
