I’ve always wondered what would happen if Live on the Green happened in the middle of a rainstorm. Well, last week we found out!
All Them Witches kicked off the show just before the storm broke. With characteristic passion and energy, their music perfectly matched the growing storm. The light sprinkles made the feeling in the park absolutely magical. But, as they wrapped their set, the bottom absolutely dropped out.
People ran in every direction searching for a dry spot. However, a few brave souls held their position by the barriers and continued singing, dancing and tossing the volleyball. A puddle formed by the stage and the audience began belly flopping and cartwheeling in the spontaneously formed pool.
An hour later, The Features went on. Despite the fact that their gear was less than dry, they drew the crowd out from their dry hiding spots and had everyone dancing again.
Finally, Capital Cities lit up the night with the gorgeous, lush sounds of horn, percussion and electric mixes. The sounds floated over the city and drew the crowds out as they swayed and danced in step.
Enjoy the photos.
