Keyser Soze is a sextet from Reno, Nevada that formed in 1998. Together they create original reggae, ska, and soul influenced by a heavy background in jazz.
Through regular regional touring the band has managed to build a strong foundation including performances with (but not limited to) Michael Franti, The English Beat, The Wailers, The Aggrolites, and Steel Pulse.
Founded by Jammal Tarkington and Rodney Teague, Keyser Soze has been playing with its current lineup since 2009. Previous releases include 2003’s Revenge and 2011’s But Not For You.
The Remedy is the band’s newest release and is evidence of the strong creative bonds developed by years of writing, recording, and performing as a unit.
This record is the sounds of the Caribbean islands coming to life in the U.S. desert. Keyser Soze is what would have happened if Sublime had recorded with the Buena Vista Social Club back in the day.
The Remedy is a modern twist on the classic sounds of the tropics and its exactly what I needed in my life. Allow this album to wash you away as the waves crash into the sand and smooth out the rough edges.
In May and June of this year, the band completed its first European tour where they grew their following and now have plans to return on an annual basis.
This new record is being distributed in Europe by Rocking Records and in the U.S. by Megalith. It includes collaborations and features from The Aggrolites’ Roger Rivas and Lauren Nagel of The Soul Captives.
