After the first time I listened to this one, I woke up the next day (and the day after) with the melody for Blue Feather stuck in my head. I even found myself humming the tune as I went about my daily tasks.
Typically this doesn’t happen so considering this is track 1 on Kelsea Little‘s new album, Personal Myth, you can assume the proceeding 9 songs presented me with a very solid album.
What happens when you mix forty strings, a meadowlark, a basket of garden vegetables, and a cup of warm tea with a shot of honey?
Kelsea Little and her sidekick Neil, of course. (Neil is a five foot harp.)
In 2006, Kelsea started her music career in San Diego, CA as part of the folk-rock band The Wrong Trousers.
When the band took a hiatus [indefinitely], Kelsea decided it was time to go solo.
Personal Myth is a display of Kelsea’s growth in music as well as an insight into her unique view of the world.
She is honest. She is passionate. And she has created one of most refreshing albums I have listened to in the past few months.
Joined by Jose Guerrero on drums and percussion; James Albers on electric bass; Mack Leighton handling upright bass; Wyatt Stone tickling the electric guitar, pedal steel, mandolin, acoustic guitar, and adding vocals; and last but not least, Tasha Locke whistling through her saxophone.
This group of musicians have given me something I will be jamming for quite a while.
I suggest grabbing your copy of Personal Myth then heading over to Kelsea’s website.
