Junebug are a four-piece alternative acoustic rock group all the way from the beautiful lands of Glasgow, Scotland.
In 2010, members Matthew and Owen decided it was time for a little experiment in acoustic rock. After that went well, it was time to diversify.
The duo became a quartet when vocalist Katie Irvine and percussionist Harry Smith joined into the fun.
Junebug was born.
This group has been touring across the country of Scotland and have arrived with their debut album The Chase.
So far, Still, is sticking out in my mind as the current favorite.
Similar to bands such as Bombay Bicycle Club, Blondie, Feeder, and Metronomy; I find myself thinking about ’90s rock groups The Cranberries and Gin Blossoms for some reason.
Despite any comparison, Junebug are a musical force all their own.
The fellas provide a very engaging and uplifting sound bed of rock that will have you jamming along on every song. Katie drops the final layer with her vocals and all is at it should be.
You can grab your copy of The Chase from Bandcamp. You can stream it from Soundcloud. And you can connect with the band on Facebook.
