(from the press release by Kate Richardson) — Lead Single “Stone Cold Love” with Ryan Tedder —
March 18th, 2014, Nashville, TN…Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductee, John Oates, kicks off his much anticipated new solo album “>Good Road To Follow (PS Records / Elektra) today with the lead single “Stone Cold Love”, a collaboration with OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder. The album started as a yearlong series of digital singles and has culminated in a three-disc set of genre-specific EPs aptly named Route 1, Route 2, and Route 3.“Stone Cold Love” was written, performed and produced with Tedder, front man for OneRepublic, at his studio in Denver, CO. The song is a new sound coming from Oates, who IS singing lead, which might be hard to discern for fans. Tedder admits creating something totally different with Oates was all part of the plan. “I get off on throwing people a curveball and having them say, ‘I had you pegged and this is completely not what I thought you would’ve done.’” Oates echoes that saying, “It is definitely the track on the album that won’t sound like anything else.” Both musicians agree that the end result is an edgy, powerful, hard-hitting introduction to Good Road To Follow.
