Have you heard the amazing voice of Jodie Levinson yet?
Beyond her enchanting melodies, Jodie is a master at the craft of writing great songs.
Pulling inspiration from fears, joys, and her fascination with relationships, her songs offer us a soulful pop-rock exploration into these basic but complex human emotions.
Levinson has been favorably compared to Norah Jones and Sara Bareilles for her ability to channel both the intimacy of soul and the broad resonance of pop. She honed her musicality working alongside such industry greats as producer Matt Pendergast (Mary J. Blige, Britney Spears, and Ciara) and composer-producer Lisa Ratner (Barbra Streisand, Vanessa Williams, and Dolly Parton).
That’s a hell of a way to hone your musical skills. I don’t need to say much more to convince you to push play.
Strong Enough (video)
Jodie is bigger than music. She spent her formative years focusing on theater and dance. She studied Carole King to take her piano chops and songwriting to another level, but…
It wasn’t until she began studying jazz, classical, and taking voice lessons that she started moving more into the music. During all this study and growth, she was also fronting the band Grace Over Glass.
Now Jodie is here with her new EP, Strong Enough.
It is far beyond Strong Enough. This soulful songstress delivers a powerful dose of love and its obstacles in this 4 song collection.
She gigs regularly in the New York City area so if you happen be there, try and catch a show.
When she is not creating or playing music, she spends her time teaching it. Kudos and Respect.
