I’m willing to bet you’ve heard the works of Jim Peterik before…even if you don’t realize it. Allow me to enlighten you.
Peterik has a very impressive portfolio…where should I begin?
He co-authored the book Songwriting For Dummies. This book is a best-seller.
Ever heard of the band Survivor? From the 70s/80s? That was Jim Peterik’s band.
You know that hit song, Eye of the Tiger? From the hit movie Rocky III? That song landed Jim Grammy and People’s Choice Awards as well as an Oscar nomination.
His songs The Search Is Over, High On You, and I Can’t Hold Back are all Billboard chart-toppers.
Jim also co-wrote the theme, along with Sammy Hagar, to the animated movie Heavy Metal.
Are you a fan of .38 Special? Jim helped pen their platinum selling singles Hold On Loosely, Caught Up In You, Wild-Eyed Southern Boys, Fantasy Girl, and Rockin’ Into The Night.
Jim still creates with .38 Special. I should also mention he has worked with the infamous southern rockers Lynyrd Skynyrd as well.
I could keep going but if Jim’s story is something that piques your interest, I highly recommend reading his autobiography Through The Eye Of The Tiger.
Present day, Jim Peterik has delivered an inventive and retrospective new album titled The Songs.
For The Songs, Jim took his top songs and headed to Nashville to record and work with some of Music City’s greatest talents.
His shows have been selling out…fast.
The Songs includes 13 of Jim’s most popular singles and reinvents them for this solo acoustic album. When you hear Eye of the Tiger delivered with mandolin, acoustic guitar, some sweet sounding fiddle, and nothing but some good ole, down home, countryside vibes but with the same intensity as the original production; you’ll immediately want to grab a copy of this album for your collection.
