Americana, blues-infused rockers Jeffrey Halford and The Healers have arrived with a highly enjoyable listening experience on their new album West Towards South.
West Towards South is packed from beginning to end with vibrant sonic tapestries and engaging storytelling that falls on the spectrum somewhere between haunting desert rock and good ole fashioned bluesy Americana.
Jeffrey Halford’s stories come in the form of miniature sonic novels which weave themselves into a 10-track, foot-stompin’, whiskey sippin’, backroad highway cruisin’ jam session that will leave any listener wanting more.
The Healers are comprised of Adam Rossi, Bill MacBeath and, of course, Jeffrey Halford. Jeffrey co-wrote with Don Zimmer while Adam Rossi co-produced the project. Mark Karan and Tom Heyman guest star on the record.
The one thing that grabbed me immediately was the authenticity this album brings with not only its storytelling but also to the genre it represents. This is definitely an album worth saving and repeating…often.
