Southern infused country rockin’ Jay Clark Band has returned with a new album and the band is Turning It Up!
After writing a collection of new songs as a follow up to his debut album Cocked and Loaded, Jay headed to Nashville to record with his session band and new singers, Adam Cunningham and Tania Hancheroff.
The result is a great sounding, highly appealing collection of Southern fried, country soaked rock and roll songs which sound just as good as singles as they do as a cohesive album. There’s no denying that Jay is Turning It Up, not just with his songwriting but with his creativity in general.
From the opening of Turning It Up to the outro of the last track Hometown, Jay Clark Band takes us on a guitar soarin’, hard rockin’ journey through consistent, memorable song crafting. From relatable lyrics to driving rhythms to igniting guitars, Turning It Up represents the sonic evolution of a songwriter and musician who knows how to arrange infectious and stimulating sounds for maximum impact for the listener.
I wanted to show growth both as a writer and creatively. I set out to write songs that had deeper meaning and could keep the listener interested from the first note on Turning It Up to the last note on Hometown. I hope I’ve done that,” says Jay.
These songs would sound just as good in a small bar as they would in a stadium and either venue would result in crowds of people fully engaged, fists pumping, bodies grooving and everyone having a great time.
