Multi-instrumentalist Jakob Pek is gearing up to release his newest project Acoustic Medicine on May 4th (2017).
First learning violin at age 4, Jakob has spent his life learning and perfecting his multi-instrumental and songwriting craft.
Acoustic Medicine represents a collection of acoustic guitar improvisations that delve into the realms of avant-garde and experimental music as Jakob’s refreshing and unique approach to song crafting are put on full display during the duration of this excellent and quite soothing project.
With performances at the Musica Medicina Festival in Pisac, Peru, the Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive, the Haight Ashbury Street Fair in San Francisco, the Outsound New Music Summit (also in San Francisco) as well as appearing live with names such as Fred Frith, David Behrman, and Arrington De Dionyso; it’s safe to assume Jakob Pek has been grabbing the attention of audiences and respected music minds for the majority of his career.
Acoustic Medicine is the most non-traditional, but also the most refreshing, acoustic guitar album I have heard in quite some time. It’s safe to say to Jakob Pek exists in a matrix all his own but one that can be appreciated by music lovers far and wide.
Acoustic Medicine will be available on May 4th (2017). I suggest you bookmark Jakob’s Bandcamp and grab a copy when it becomes available.
