Where are you from and what style of music do you create? (In your own words, not necessarily in marketing terms or by popular genre classifications.)
I spent the early years of my life in Northern California, then we moved to Phoenix Arizona for about 10 years, but I’m currently living in Los Angeles and have been for about 5 years now. I make music in a variety of styles. I’ve dabbled in Folk/Acoustic, Electronic and Pop Punk.
What led you down this path of music and what motivates you to stay the course?
I was inspired to start making music when I was 13, my friend started learning the guitar and I said, there’s no way you’re going to be doing something that I can’t do. So I picked up the guitar and started learning.
How is your new release different than previous ones? Did you set out to accomplish anything specific?
Well this release is very different than most of my catalog because it was birthed out of a pretty traumatic experience. In November of 2016 I was laid off from my job, and that left me reeling. I used the time off to write this album and each song has special meaning to me about a different aspect of this season.
Do you face any challenges as an indie musician in a digital age? On the flip side, how has technology helped you (if it has)?
I think the biggest challenge is standing out from all of the other indie musicians out there trying to make a name for themselves. Technology has greatly helped me! It’s becoming easier and easier to get recording equipment, which in turn allows me to make even more music because it doesn’t cost as much.
Where can we follow you online and hear more music?
